What is the difference between logo design and visual identity

Logo design means designing the mark itself and the files that go with it. A visual identity, also called company branding, is the system around the mark: colours, typography, icons, templates and usage rules.

A logo alone is enough for a one-person business where the same person makes every material. The trouble starts with the third contractor: the print shop asks about colours, the vehicle wrapper about the dark background version, and whoever runs social media picks a typeface from memory.

An identity settles that once: one set of files and rules you send to every contractor instead of explaining everything again. The effect comes from repetition, not from the thickness of the document.

Company branding is the widest term, because it also covers how the company speaks about itself and what it promises the customer. We do all three scopes and, when quoting, say plainly which one you actually need.
