What Core Web Vitals are and why they matter
They are three measurements Google uses to describe how a page feels to a user: how fast the content appears, how fast the page reacts, and whether the layout jumps around.
LCP tells you how long it takes for the largest element on screen to appear. Under 2.5 seconds is good. INP measures the delay between a click and a reaction. CLS catches content shifting during loading, familiar to anyone who has hit the wrong button because an image loaded at the last moment.
These numbers affect your position in search, but above all they decide whether anyone stays on the page. Every second of loading is a measurable loss in the number of enquiries.
