How to check whether your website brings in customers
You need three numbers: how many people come in, how many of them get in touch, and where the ones who got in touch came from.
A visit counter on its own says nothing. What matters is the share of visits that end in contact and the source they came from. Search, maps, advertising and referrals behave completely differently, and throwing them into one average is a reliable way of hiding the problem.
For that you need analytics and a search console, plus one simple thing everyone forgets: asking how did you hear about us at the first contact. Answers given over the phone fill a gap that no system will measure.
