Website Copywriting - How to Write Copy That Sells
The most beautiful site won't sell if the copy doesn't land. Good copywriting isn't about "pretty words" - it's about the visitor quickly understanding what's in it for them and what to do next.
Benefits, not features
The customer doesn't care that you have a "responsive layout and 3D animations" - they care that "the site looks great on a phone and will make them stand out from the competition." Turn features into real benefits.
The rule: after every feature, add "...so that you..."
Write simply
Short sentences, concrete words, zero jargon for jargon's sake. The less effort reading takes, the more people read all the way to the button.
Make headings specific - they should convey the meaning even to someone who's only scanning.
Lead to action
Every important section should end with a clear next step (a CTA). Don't assume the customer will "figure it out on their own" - tell them outright what to do.
In brief
- Turn features into benefits ("so that you…").
- Write simply - less effort = more content read.
- End sections with a clear call to action.
